Things you didn't know : food for a newborn
Hi Rachel,
As a newborn, you do not take normal food (rice, meat, noodles, fish) like daddy and mummy. You drink milk. We try to feed you every 3 hours. In fact, you will remind us (very punctually) with your cries whenever you are hungry. 阿嬷 says the precision of your timing is "比时钟还准".
For the first 2 weeks, we try to give you 60-70ml of milk per feed. Multiply that by 8 times per day. (there are 24 hours a day, feeding you every 3 hours means that you will be fed about 7 or 8 times per day, got it?). That is how much we are giving you per day, to see you grow up healthily.

Mummy even keep track of how many times you drink, poo-poo or shee-shee per day in a little notebook.

You are being fed mummy's breast milk, which contains a lot a lot of nutrients. It is the best kind of food for babies.
Everyday, for a few times (even in the middle of the night), mummy will extract her milk and store it in the freezer. She has to do this as you seems to prefer drinking from a bottle. Anyway, bottle feeding allows us to monitor how much milk you have been drinking.

To keep your bottles and teats clean and free from harmful germs and bacterias, we clean them in a sterilizer. It is similar to boiling them in hot water. Germs don't like heat, so they will be chased away.

During feeding time, what daddy needs to do is to get the chilled milk out of the freezer and pour it into a milk bottle, place it in a warmer to warm up the milk. This job is simple......
For the more chanllenging job of feeding you, usually it is mummy who takes over.

About rachel & rianne

Hi... It's better to train Rachel to latch on. You know... chilled in fridge and warm-up again is not the best, just like eating "overnight's food". you shouldn't be worried about she not having enuff, since babies have the gift of crying when they are hungry. just my 2 cents worth.
thanks, wify is trying to train her to latch-on again especially in the daytime. But rachel's lazy just her dad in some aspects (like what 嬷嬷 said, 吃都懒). will keep trying.....
